Winter Acitivities in Southern UtahSouthern Utah is home to excellent snowmobiling, skiing, snowboarding, and even cross country skiing and hiking. Brian Head Ski Resort is only 3 hours drive from Las Vegas. Brian Head offers beginner and intermediate slopes. The skiing at Brian Head is nice because the lines are never too long and on the weekdays you can have wide open spaces. At Brian Head you can rent equipment for skiing and snowboarding, snowbikes, and there is tubing. Snowmobiles can be rented in town and there are some great trails and scenery around the Cedar Breaks Monument in the winter. For more information about lift tickets and the resort, visit www.brianhead.com Eagle Point has re opened outside of Beaver, and also offers excellent skiing and lots of terrain. There are some nice long runs, and good back country there. Formerly known as Elk Meadows, the resort sits in a prime position for lots of powder, and is also close to excellent fishing and back country snowmobiling. Trout are still active in the winter and if you know where to look there are some great areas to catch lots of fish through the ice.
