Panguitch Lake General Information
Panguitch Lake is at 8400 ft. elevation and has depths over 30 ft. The word "Panguitch"
means big fish in Indian languages. And big fish are what you will find at Panguitch Lake. The lake has Brown, Rainbow,
Cutthroat, and Brook Trout. In the General Store are taxidermy of fish well over ten pounds and photos of other giant trout taken in the
lake. Panguitch Lake has year around access and ice fishing here produces non-stop action. The lake is 15 miles from Brian Head and 15 miles from Panguitch town.
Panguitch Lake has many campgrounds to choose from and lots of fishable shoreline. Boats can be rented for around 40 dollars. the lake doesn't get as many visitors as
other places on the mountain which makes the fishing all the more exciting. Panguitch Lake real estate is an excellent buy due to the quality of the fishing, fewer crowds, and miles of atv, snowmobile, and horseback riding trails.
The horse valley road leads you to Paragonah and Yankee reservoirs which are only 10 to 15 miles away.
Many Cabins here have year around access. The proximity to the ski resort makes the area great because you can ski in the winter and enjoy all the summer recreation the mountain has to offer right out your back door.
